Molly is a printmaker by nature and training and is proficient in silkscreening, woodcut, intaglio and lithography. She brings the skills of patience, planning, and problem solving she learned through this training to all of the work that she does as an award-winning teaching artist in the state of New Jersey. She opened her printmaking studio, Social Animal Press in Ocean Grove, NJ, in 2006. There, she makes work for gallery exhibition and commercial purposes in all manner of media, from woodblock, silkscreen, and mixed media large scale fine art to textile printing for clothing and installations. Most recently, she has been developing a body of work from observation of her favorite spots at the Jersey Shore. Images of local parks and hiking spots have found a home on display at Main Street Gallery in Manasquan. At this location, she also began Sketchy Pets…another opportunity for her to connect to her community and practice her skills at life-rendering, but from much more challenging subjects!

A transplant to the Jersey Shore area, Molly moved in late 2002 from Alexandria, Virginia where she taught Printmaking at Virginia Tech’s Graduate School of Architecture, an international consortium; worked at the National Endowment for the Arts; and worked in the Corcoran Gallery of Art’s Museum Education Program and as an adjunct faculty member at the Corcoran College of Art and Design. Her career devoted to the arts in such a variety of ways gives her first-hand perspectives on the arts in America from all levels, which enriches her teaching, her artmaking, and makes her a passionate advocate for the arts in society.

She has been recognized with a New Jersey Governer’s Award as an Outstanding Teaching Artist, awarded a grant from the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation to develop a public art project, Table Talk, and received a Graduate University Fellowship and an MFA in printmaking at the Ohio State University. She received her BFA in printmaking and a BA in art history from James Madison University. Producing primarily print-based and mixed media works on paper, she has exhibited regularly in Washington, DC, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, New York City, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. In addition to Sketchy Pets, she teaches art history, painting, drawing and design at Ocean County College.

Kate Mancini

Locally born and raised right here  in the town of Manasquan, Kate Mancini’s art has been deeply inspired by the ocean and beach town lifestyle. 

While teaching art in a private school for 5 years , applying the core concepts of the Reggio Emilia approach, Kate decided to take a hiatus from working to raise her five children. Kate and her husband Joe live in Colts Neck where they love the wide open spaces and enjoy the garden and outdoors as much as possible. 

 Kate has been deeply influenced by her parents, both artists, and her uncle Geoffrey Myers who is a well renowned painter and sculptor with many pieces in galleries around east coast. Kate’s work is best described as evoking a feeling of happiness and tranquility through use of color, layers and composition with a fresh abstract feel. Kate loves to paint layered  landscapes both underwater and above in a “primitively modern” style.

Shane McClatchey is from Point Pleasant, New Jersey. He received a BFA in Drawing and Painting with a minor in Graphic Design at the Laguna College of Art and Design, where he is currently pursuing an MFA.

When he is not making artwork he can be found surfing and spearfishing along the Southern California coast or lifeguarding at the Jersey Shore.

Represented by Main Street Gallery in Manasquan, New Jersey.

Helen Frank

Helen Frank has had a remarkable career. Her paintings and prints celebrate the joy and whimsy of life from the last half of the 20th century to present day.

Her subjects range from ballet, baseball, and horse racing to the architecture of New York City, New Jersey, and cites in Europe, to neighbors, landscapes, foods, and family.  Her pieces always show the beauty in everyday people, places, and events.

She currently resides in Northern New Jersey.  She received her arts education at The New School, Yale, Tyler School of Fine Arts at Temple University, Art Students League, and Cooper Union.

Helen’s work was just recently inducted into The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s permanent collection, which is quite a prestigious honor! Her work is also in the collections of the Library of Congress, New York Public Library, New-York Historical Society, Museum of Modern Art, Victoria and Albert Museum, New Jersey State Museum, Newark Public Library, Newark Museum, American Museum of Immigration, UNICEF, Lafayette College, New Jersey Center for Visual Arts, Saks Fifth Avenue, New York Life Insurance Company, New York Mets, Habitat for Humanity and Drumthwacket: NJ Governor’s Mansion.

Lea Colie Wight

Lea Colie Wight was born in Philadelphia, Pa and earned a BFA from The Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 1974.  In 2003 Lea discovered Studio Incamminati, an intensive Atelier founded in Philadelphia by renowned artist Nelson Shanks and entered as a student.  After completing her studies Lea was invited to join the teaching staff rising to become one of the lead teachers at that school.  Lea periodically served as teaching assistant to Nelson Shanks at The Art Students League in New York and has served as lead instructor for various Studio Incamminati workshops as well as her own workshops.  She has been awarded an Honor Award at the Portrait Society of America’s national competition in 2009 and in 2010 as well as a Certificate of Excellence in 2011. Her work has been featured in numerous publications. Lea maintains a studio in Manasquan, New Jersey as well as in Philadelphia.
