After receiving a BFA from The Minneapolis College of Art and Design, she continued to live and work in the Minnneapolis area. Wight eventually moved to Manasquan and opened Main Street Gallery over twenty-five years ago. Thanks to a supportive family and gallery staff, she was then able to refocus on her artwork. In 2003 she was introduced to Nelson Shanks and the artists of Studio Incamminati. She began study at the Philadelphia school and in 2004 she joined the teaching staff as a part time instructor.
