Geoff Hunt

From 1966 to 1970 Geoff Hunt studied graphic design at Kingston and Epsom schools of art. After two years of advertising, he became a freelance artist and designer. He was art editor of the Warship Journal from 1977 to 1979, and typographer designer of many books on marine subjects. Now dedicated to painting full-time, he is a member of the royal Naval Museum, Royal Naval Submarine Museum, Mystic Maritime Gallery and private collections worldwide.

Sailing has been an ongoing passion which contributes to the accurate portrayals for which Hunt has become known. He is best recognized for painting the covers of the Patrick O'Brian novels, described by the NY Times as "The best historical novels ever written." When not on the water or in the library reading old log books Hunt can be found in Wimbelton, England with his wife and two sons.
